This website privacy notice applies to www.iwecelectrical.com. It explains how we collect and use personal data when you use our website, contact us, or request a quote. We are the “data controller” for this website and any enquiries you submit.

  • Enquiry / contact form details (e.g., the content of your message and when you contact us)

If you use our contact form, the information you enter is sent to us so we can respond to your enquiry.

Please do not include special category (sensitive) personal data in your contact form message (for example, information about health, medical conditions, ethnicity, religion, or criminal allegations) unless we specifically ask for it.

Some technical and usage data is collected automatically using cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and similar technologies” below). This may include data collected by our website platform provider (Wix) to operate and secure the site.

Our lawful basis is contract (taking steps at your request) and/or legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and running our business). Your message may be stored within our Wix website account and/or within our email system used to receive enquiries.

  • Respond to contact form enquiries and provide quotes (identity/contact details, enquiry/contact form details) – lawful basis: contract (pre‑contract steps where you request a quote/service) and/or legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and running our business).

  • Website operation, security and performance (technical/usage data) – lawful basis: legitimate interests (running, securing and maintaining our website and preventing misuse) and/or legal obligation where applicable. Where we use non‑essential cookies or similar technologies, we will rely on consent and you can manage your choices via our cookie banner/settings.

  • Comply with legal obligations (identity/contact details, business records) – lawful basis: legal obligation.

 

We do not sell personal data. We only share it where necessary for the purposes set out in this notice (see “Who we share data with”).

 

Marketing communications

We do not routinely send marketing emails or texts from this website. If this changes, we will do so only where permitted by law (including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), which set rules for electronic marketing and the use of cookies), and you will be able to opt out at any time.

Who we share personal data with

We may share personal data with trusted service providers who act as our processors to help us operate our website and manage contact form enquiries (for example, website hosting and form handling, IT support and security). We use Wix.com Ltd. as our website platform/host and for contact form processing within our website account. Where contact form messages are delivered to us by email, Microsoft (Outlook / Microsoft 365) will process the message for delivery. These providers are only permitted to use personal data on our instructions and must keep it secure.

Wix, Microsoft (Outlook / Microsoft 365) and other suppliers may process personal data outside the UK. Where this involves an international transfer, we rely on appropriate safeguards provided through our contracts with those suppliers and the transfer mechanisms recognised under UK data protection law (for example, adequacy regulations where applicable, or standard contractual terms with additional measures where required).

We may also share information where required by law, to enforce our legal rights, or with professional advisers (such as insurers, accountants, and solicitors) who are subject to confidentiality obligations.

 

Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, secure configurations, and limiting access to those who need it. Email and internet communications are not completely secure, so you should avoid sending sensitive information unless it is necessary.

 

How long we keep your data (retention)

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, including to respond to contact form enquiries, provide quotations/services, keep appropriate business records, and meet legal, accounting or insurance requirements. Typical retention periods are: contact form / enquiry records – 24 months; customer/service records – 6 years to meet limitation and tax requirements; and website logs – 90 days, unless we need to keep them longer for security investigations.

 

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal data (subject to certain conditions). You can exercise your rights by contacting us using the details above.
